
1972 DeTomaso Pantera
The story
The 1972 De Tomaso Pantera, a collaborative effort between De Tomaso and Ford, was a mid-engine sports car sold through Lincoln-Mercury dealerships. It blended Italian design with a powerful American Ford 351 Cleveland engine. The Pantera was known for its sleek, exotic styling and relatively affordable price compared to other European sports cars of the time.
Engine & Transmission
Engine is Coyote 5.9 with Borla 8-stack Injection, backed by a Ford GT 05-06 Transaxle.
Chassis
Full custom-built chassis and suspension from Roadster Shop.
Body Modifications
4” Stretch, Hour-glassed quarters, fender flares, Full custom front end openings trimmed out with Chrome, Kindig-it Design smooth Bar door handles, 3D-printed grills, and Custom machined trim throughout. Custom-skinned Hood. All trim is custom-built and chrome by Ogden Chrome. We deleted the pop-up headlights and created a new shape and style from scratch.
Paint
Color is called “Migreene” from our paintline “Modern Classikk by Kindig powered by Sikkens.” The color name is a play on words because this green is so bright it will give you a migraine, meant to call back to its original bright green color.
Interior
By JS Custom Interiors, all black leather with green stitching. Seats are modified Recarro. The steering wheel is a Billet Specialties 14: Hairpin “D” that we modified further. One-off Dakota Digital Gauges based on a 69 Camaro HDX.
Wheels & Tires
Pirelli P-Zero 355/25/21 Rear and 255/30/20 Fronts, Wheels are one-offs designed by Dave Kindig and built by EVOD.
